ABOUT DAN
Dan Steel has engaged in the practice of Yoga for more than a decade now. He learned Transcendental Meditation while attending college and thereafter discovered the asana practice. With a background in martial arts, he was drawn to the physically demanding aspect of the postures and the focus that they required. After he experienced the powerful potential in Yoga for self-discovery, self-healing, and transformation, he wished to share that with other people. Dan has completed multiple teacher trainings and currently studies Hatha Yoga under the Shadow Yoga school. In addition to his continued yoga studies and practice, he is training in the system of Z-Health (focusing on improving movement, balance, vision, pain rehabilitation, and athletic skill through applied neuroanatomy techniques), and practices the martial art of Oom Yung Doe. When the practice is approached correctly, with the appropriate degree of attention, patience, and discipline, there arises the profound opportunity for growth and greater understanding of the self physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The more we come to understand ourselves, the more we can act in accordance with our true nature and move beyond our fears and projected behaviors. Eternal gratitude to my teachers Matt Pesendian, Richmond Dickson, Radhasri, Dr. Eric Cobb, Ana Forrest, Cameron Shayne, Peter Harris, Michael Goldin, Ame Wren, and Aaron Cantor. |
